Lonely to Loved

In this short film, we aimed to portray the coming together of two people based off of their mutual interests: Art. To achieve this we swapped out the positions of the characters for the books they were reading and had them move closer together along with the passing of time. This idea was liked but we found it challenging to bring to fruition and give shots the meaning we sought from the symbolism embedded in each one.

The Stalker
Our vision for The Stalker was to have a male actor follow around a girl. Through a labyrinth of corridors and hallways he was follow her to the point where it became suspicious and creepy. However, he was acting as a red herring as we view the actions of the stalker through the camera which would portray many POV shots throughout the film and only be revealed to be a character at the end with a plot twist.

Sound - Photo Essay
The task was to record our photo essay sound on the ZOOM recorders. In this recording I attempted to evoke as much authentic emotion as possible through my intonations and phrases in my photo essay. I struggled with trying to make the audio quality smooth by having my head in the same position during recording, however through trial and error I was able to produce this photo essay.

Lighting
We experimented with lighting to give meaning to the shots we took. We found cooler lighting provided the character with a more serious or sinister impression whilst warmer lighting made the character almost more trustworthy. The location of the source of the light was very finicky to set up and extract meaning from, but we found that lighting coming from behind the subject created a villainous image due to the shadows casted on the front of the subject. Top lighting created a sense of mystery. Lighting from the floor looked a bit silly and distorted. Overall the experimenting helped inform us of the different lighting options available to us and the impressions they would give.
